Sakura-jima (Japon)

   A l’heure qu’il est, les Japonais sont en train de roupiller mais le Sakura-jima n’a, semble-t-il, pas sommeil comme le montre la capture d’écran de la webcam ci-dessous ! Un grand merci à la personne qui me l’a envoyée.

   Right now, the Japanese are sound asleep but it seems Sakura-jima does not feel like sleeping, as can be seen on the screenshot of the webcam here below! Many thanks to the person who sent me the document.

White Island (Nouvelle Zélande)

   Voici une petite vidéo qui montre parfaitement l’activité actuelle à White Island. Une fois encore, il est dommage que le vidéaste n’ait pas utilisé un pied pour filmer !

Royal Gardens (Kilauea / Hawaii / Etats Unis)

   La NASA a mis en ligne deux photos prises depuis l’espace en 1977 et en 2011.

Elles montrent les transformations subies par les Royal Gardens sous les assauts de la lave. Dans l’image de 1977, on distingue parfaitement la zone habituée avec son réseau de rues au sein d’un paysage forestier. En 2011, la lave avait pratiquement tout recouvert, épargnant seulement un petit secteur où se trouvait la maison de Jack Thompson qui a fini par disparaître le 2 mars 2012 pendant que son propriétaire était évacué par hélicoptère.

   NASA has released (see link below) two photos taken from space in 1977 and 2011.

They show the transformations undergone by the Royal Gardens under the assaults of lava. In the 1977 image, one can see the populated area with its network of roads amidst the forested landscape. In 2011, lava had covered almost everything, leaving aside a very small area with Jack Thompson’s house which finally disappeared on March 2nd 2012 while its owner was evacuated by helicopter.
