Une inondation est en cours à Gígja dans de sud-est de l’Islande, mais l’origine se trouve au Grimsvötn, volcan actif sous le Vatnajökull. Il est encore trop tôt pour dire si une éruption sous-glaciaire a commencé. Les volcanologues islandais vont suivre de très près l’évolution de la situation au cours des prochains jours.

A flood has started in Gígja in south-eastern Iceland, but the origin is in Grímsvötn, an active volcano in Vatnajökull. It is still too early to say if an eruption has stared under the glacier. Icelandic volcanologists will follow the situation closely in the next few days.
