Un survol effectué par les scientifiques de l’AVO a révélé que l’essaim sismique qui a affecté le volcan il y a quelques jours n’a pas modifié la morphologie de l’édifice. Comme cela était prévisible, des zones de haute températures sont apparues à la surface du dôme, mais les volcanologues ont également remarqué que les émissions de gaz étaient plus importantes qu’au mois de novembre.
Il est donc possible qu’il ait eu une nouvelle injection de magma ou bien une remobilisation du magma déjà présent dans l’édifice
Il est peu probable que le Redoubt entre en éruption sans autre activité sismique préalable.
