Piton de la Fournaise (Ile de la Réunion)

18 heures : La météo reste exécrable sur le volcan mais une petite fenêtre météo a permis à l’OVPF d’observer deux langues de lave – une s’écoulant comme les jours précédents et la seconde prenant un vallon plus à l’ouest. Elles  proviennent de la bouche observée lors des reconnaissances sur le terrain effectuées le 6 février.

L’Observatoire a mis en ligne le tracé du trémor depuis le début de l’éruption. Même s’il est faible, on se rend compte qu’il a regagné un peu d’intensité ces derniers temps, ce qui explique probablement la présence d’une deuxième langue la lave.

18 :00 : Weather conditions are really awful on the volcano but a short clearing allowed OVPF to observe two lava lobes – the one that could be seen from the beginning of the eruption and another one that travels down a small valley to the west. Both are coming from the vent mentioned after the on-the-field visit of February 6^th.

The Observatoty has released an image of the tremor since the start of the eruption. Even though it is low, one can notice some sort of increase during the past hours, which probably accounts for the new lava flow to the west.
