Pourquoi l’Etna fume-t-il la pipe? // Why does Mount Etna smoke the pipe?

   Dans l’après-midi du 16 mars, quelques heures avant le début du 8^ème paroxysme, plusieurs observateurs ont remarqué que l’Etna émettait des anneaux de gaz. Dans une note rédigée le 11 février 2010, j’expliquais pourquoi, de temps en temps, l’Etna « fumait la pipe » (dixit Haroun Tazieff).

   In the afternoon of March 16th, a few fours before the 8th paroxysm, several observers noticed that Mount Etna was emitting gas rings. In a note written on February 11^th, 2010, I explained why, from time to time, Etna was “smoking the pipe” (according to H. Tazieff’s words).
