Le Galeras reste bien actif, avec des emissions de vapeur au niveau du cratère principal et de deux autres craters situés au nord (Paisita) et eu SO (Chavas). Le 9 et le 11 décembre, des séismes de M 2,3 et M 2,5, ressentis parla population, ont été enregistrés à proximité du cratère, à une profondeur de 1,5 km. Le niveau d’alerte est maintenu à 3 (Jaune – modification de l’activité volcanique).

Activity continues at Galeras, with steam rising from the main crater and two craters to the N and SW (Paisita and Chavas, respectively). On December 9th and 11th, M 2.3 and 2.5 earthquakes, felt by local residents, occurred near the crater at a depth of 1.5 km. The Alert Level remains at 3 (Yellow; « changes in the behaviour of volcanic activity »).
