L’Etna serait-il en train de préparer un nouveau paroxysme ? Hier 5 novembre, on a observé une hausse de la sismicité, en particulier sur le versant SO du volcan. Aujourd’hui à la mi-journée, le Cratère SE a émis des panaches de cendre à plusieurs reprises. La caméra thermique montrait qu’il y avait également éjection de matériaux incandescents. Au moment où j’écris ces lignes (20h15 heure locale), le Cratère SE émet à nouveau un panache de cendre (voir capture d’écran ci-dessous) et le tremor a tendance à grimper. Situation à surveiller très attentivement !
Is Mount Etna getting ready for another paroxysm? On November 5th, there was an increase in seismicity, especially on the SW flank of the volcano. Today early in the afternoon, the SE Crater emitted several ash plumes. The thermal camera showed incandescent materials were also ejected. Right now (20:15, local time), the SE Crater is again producing ash plumes (see screenshot below) and the tremor tends to increase. The situation will have to be closely monitored!
