Le KVERT indique qu’une éruption a débuté mercredi soir sur le Zhupanovsky au kamchatka. Le volcan est certes moins connu que le Klyuchevskoy ou le Shiveluch mais il est bien actif, avec une dernière éruption en 1959. Le panache de cendre s’élevait à 5 km de hauteur et était encore visible hier sur les images du VAAC. L’éruption ne présente pas de danger pour les zones habitées. Le volcan se trouve à environ 70 km de Pétropavlovsk. D’après le KVERT, on observait une couche de cendre de 1 mm d’épaisseur dans les vallées autour du Zhupanovsky.
KVERT indicates that an eruption started on Wednesday night on Zhupanovsky on the Kamchatka Peninsula. The volcano is far less popular than Klyuchevskoy or Shiveluch but it is active with its last eruption in 1959. It produced a 5-km-high ash plume that could still be seen yesterday. There is no danger to populated areas as the volcano lies about 70 km from Petropavslosk. According to KVERT, a layer of 1 mm of ash fell in the valleys near Zhupanovsky.
