8 heures: Au vu du tremor éruptif, il semblerait qu’un nouveau paroxysme soit en préparation ce matin. Je ne pourrai malheureusement pas le suivre car je serai sur la route entre les Alpes et le Limousin…
22 heures: Mon pronostic concernant la probabilité d’un 11ème paroxysme sur l’Etna ne semble pas avoir été entendu par le volcan puisqu’il ne s’est encore rien passé pendant la journée du 19 août ! Peut-être que demain….
8:00: Judging from the eruptive tremor, it looks as if a new paroxysm is going to happen on Mount Etna. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to see it as I will be on the road between the Alps and the Limousin.
22:00: It looks as if the volcano has not heard my prediction about the 11th paroxysm. Up to now, nothing has happened at the SE Crater. Maybe tomorrow….
Comme l’avait prédit Jim Kauahikaua, directeur du HVO dans le courrier qu’il m’a adressé il y a quelques jours, une phase de gonflement est à nouveau apparue au sommet du Kilauea et on commence à entrevoir la lave dans le pit crater de l’Halema’uma’u. En revanche, sur l’East Rift Zone, aucun signe d’activité n’est apparu et le tiltmètre du Pu’uO’o montre toujours un dégonflement du cratère.
As Jim Kauahikaua, the Head of HVO had predicted in the message he sent me, the switch to DI inflation occurred at the summit and lava can be seen again within the pit crater of Halema’uma’u. However, in the middle East Rift Zone, activity has not yet returned and the tilmeter of Pu’uO’o is still showing deflation.
