Sakurajima (Japon)

Depuis quelques mois, le Sakuralima montre une activité plus soutenue ponctuée d’explosions particulièrement fortes. L’une d’elles a eu lieu le 24 juillet et vous pourrez la voir sur la vidéo ci-dessous. La colonne de cendre s’élève à plusieurs kilomètres au-dessus du cratère et on perçoit même les ondes de choc au début de l’événement. L’éruption n’a pas eu pour siège, comme d’habitude, le cratère Showa-dake mais le Minami-dake :

Sakurajima volcano has been showing some stronger activity and more powerful explosions during the past months. One of them occurred on July 24^th and can be seen on the video here below, with the ash column rising several kilometres above the crater. Shock waves can also de seen at the start of the eruption which did not take place, as usual, at the Showa-dake crater but at the Minami-dake crater :
