Pour ceux que l’éruption du Kilauea intéresse, il existe un excellent DVD intitulé « SPRING 2007 ERUPTION UPDATE, a firsthand account of the current eruption of KILAUEA VOLCANO ». Les réalisateurs sont Ken Hon (volcanologue) et John Kjargaard (cinéaste). On assiste à l’éruption du Pu’u O’o entre 1983 et 2007. Les images sont parfois époustouflantes et d’une rare qualité. Mis à part quelques épisodes d’archives, les couleurs sont parfaitement rendues et le spectateur est vraiment au cœur du volcan. Les commentaires sont en anglais, mais les images parlent d’elles-mêmes. Chose rare mais intelligente, le DVD peut être utilisé librement dans les écoles à des fins pédagogiques.

It was made by Ken Hon (a volcanologist) and John Kjargaard (a filmmaker). They show the eruption of Pu’u O’o between 1983 and 2007. The images are often breathtaking and of a very high quality. Apart from some very short episodes, the colours are perfect and the spectator is at the very heart of the volcano. The text is in English but it is not important as the pictures speak for themselves. It should be noted the DVD can be used by teachers in their classrooms.
