Le débit effusif semblait en régression hier soir, mais il a profité de la nuit pour trouver une nouvelle vigueur. Comme le montre parfaitement la caméra thermique placée à 190 m d’altitude, des débordements ont eu lieu, donnant naissance à deux coulées parallèles à la coulée principale, dans la partie est de la Sciara del Fuoco.
Comme je l’écrivais précédemment, de telles variations de débit sont tout à fait normales sur un volcan de ce type. Reste à savoir comment se comportera le volcan quand cessera l’écoulement latéral de la lave. Il est fort à parier que la zone sommitale connaîtra de nouveaux moments d’agitation pendant la phase de débourrage des cratères.

The effusive output was decreasing last night, but it took advantage of the night to regain a new strength. As can be seen on the thermal camera at 190 m a.s.l., two overflows occurred, giving birth to new flows that travelled in a parallel way to the main flow in the eastern part of the Sciara del Fuoco.
As I wrote it before, such changes in the lava output are quite common on strombolian volcanoes. The point is to know how the volcano will behave the day when the lateral output of lava will stop. It is highly likely that the summit area will be shaken once again during the cleaning process of the eruptive conduits.
