Cet après-midi à 15h58 (heure locale), une secousse de 4,4 sur l’échelle de Richter a été ressentie au NO de l’Etna, entre Bronte et Randazzo. Il ne semble pas y avoir eu de dégâts. L’épicentre a été localisé à l’E-S-E de Bronte, à 20 km de profondeur. D’après les scientifiques de l’INGV, il s’agirait d’une secousse tectonique, sans lien avec l’activité de l’Etna. Le tremor éruptif n’a pas évolué au cours de la journée et reste à son niveau le plus bas.

This afternoon, at 15:58 (local time), a 4.4 earthquake on the Richter scale shook the area between Bronte and Randazzo, to the NW of Mount Etna. There doesn’t seem to be any damage. The epicentre was located to the E-S-E of Bronte and was 20 km deep. According to the INGV scientists, it was a tectonic earthquake with no apparent link with the volcano. The eruptive tremor has kept its lowest level all through the day.
