Il semblerait que la Bocca Nuova soit en passe de reprendre du service. Il est fait état d’une petite activité strombolienne sur le site EtnaWalk. Ce soir, un point d’incandescence est visible au fond du cratère. Le tremor éruptif est chaotique mais ne montre pas une hausse sensible.
It seems Bocca Nuova is getting active again. The EtnaWalk website reports weak strombolian activity. This evening there is one glowing point at the bottom of the crater. The tremor is very irregular but it does not show any significant increase in activity.
Avec l’automne, la couverture nuageuse a fait son retour sur l’Etna et la nouvelle webcam installée sur la lèvre de la Bocca Nuova ne montrait que du brouillard ces derniers temps. Ce matin, la vue est plus dégagée et on peut voir que l’activité du cratère se limite à des émissions de gaz. Cette faible activité est confirmée par l’amplitude du tremor qui garde des valeurs basses.
With autumn , the clouds are shrouding the summit of Mount Etna so that the webcam that was recently set up on the rim of Bocca Nuova only showed fog during the past days. The view is clearer this morning and one can see that activity only consists of gas emissions. This low activity is confirmed by the amplitude of the tremor that keeps low values.
Dans son dernier rapport, l’INGV décrit l’activité observée début octobre dans la Bocca Nuova. Tout a commencé dans la soirée du 2 octobre avec le début d’une petite activité strombolienne. Le 3 octobre, cette activité strombolienne s’est accompagnée d’une petite coulée de lave. Pendant les jours suivants, l’activité s’est progressivement intensifiée et a construit un petit cône sur les restes de celui qui s’était édifié en juillet-août. Le 6 octobre au soir, le tremor a connu une forte hausse qui correspondait à une vigoureuse activité strombolienne et l’apparition d’une nouvelle coulée de lave dans la partie ouest du cratère (voir la capture d’écran réalisée ce soir-là). Cette activité a atteint son maximum le 7 octobre, avec des projections au-dessus et sur la lèvre de la Bocca Nuova. L’activité a ensuite décliné et le 8 octobre le tremor retrouvait un niveau très bas, jamais observé depuis plusieurs semaines.
In its latest report, INGV describes activity within Bocca Nuova during the first days of October. On the evening of October 2nd, weak Strombolian activity resumed within the crater. On October 3rd, the Strombolian activity was accompanied by the emission of a small intracrater lava flow. During the following days, the activity slowly intensified, and began to construct a new pyroclastic conelet on top of the ruins of the cone formed in July-August. On the evening of October 6th, the volcanic tremor amplitude showed a rapid increase, with emission of a new, well-fed lava flow toward the western part of the crater floor, and vigorous Strombolian activity (see screenshot on that day). The intensity of the eruptive activity reached a peak shortly after midnight on October 7th. Some of the lava jets rose well above the elevation of the crater rim, especially during the final phases of the activity. This activity then stopped and the volcanic tremor amplitude decreased. On October 8th, it dropped to the lowest levels recorded for many weeks.
La Bocca Nuova semble avoir connu un moment d’énervement le 6 octobre sur le coup de 22 heures, avec une brève fontaine de lave et une petite coulée sur le flanc du cône à l’intérieur du cratère. Cet accroissement d’activité s’est traduit par une hausse du tremor. Ce matin, tout semble rentré dans l’ordre. 
It seems Bocca Nuova got nervous on October 6th at 22:00 or so with a short-lived lava fountain and a small lava flow on the flank of the cone inside the crater. This increase in activity caused a rise of the tremor. This morning, everything seems to have gone back to normal.
