Pavlof (Alaska / Etats Unis): L’éruption continue

drapeau anglais   AVO indicates that the eruption of Pavlof continues. Elevated seismic activity persists and a steam and ash cloud is visible in the webcam images rising up to about 6 km a.s.l.  Residents of Cold Bay, located 60km southwest of the volcano, observed incandescent glow at the summit during the night. Pilot reports and photographs indicate that the lava flow extending down the northwest flank is still active.

drapeau anglais   Tungurahua is currently experiencing an increase in activity. The Geophysical Institute indicates the volcano was relatively quiet until April 27th when two small earthquakes were recorded.
That same day, a plume of ash and steam rose to a height of 2000 meters above the crater. An increase in seismicity was observed in the afternoon.
On April 28th , a new plume of steam and ash rose up to 4000 meters above the volcano. Ashfall was observed in Baños, Pillate, Chacauco, Bilbabo, Pondoa and Juive Grande.

Etna (Sicile / Italie): Encore des émissions de cendre au cratère SE // More ash emissions at the SE Crater

drapeau anglais   9:00: One can see large ash emissions at the SE Crater this morning. However, it is difficult to know whether another paroxysm is going to take place. It seems the INGV website is not accessible right now (at 9 o’clock).

The L.A.V.E. webcam shows that some strombolian activity occurred at 2:30 or so this morning (see screeenshot here below).

21:00: This evening, one can notice the tremor is increasing and a nice glow is reflected by the clouds above the SE Crater.

drapeau anglais   Since yesterday, Mount Etna’s SE Crater has been emitting pulses of ash at regular intervals. The eruptive tremor and seismicity are still at relatively low levels but the situation may change rapidly. As Boris Behncke (INGV Catania) put it after the last paroxysm, the “preludes” are getting shorter and the volcano may erupt without warning.
