Après avoir fait passer le niveau d’alerte à 3 dimanche dernier, les volcanologues indonésiens sont persuadés qu’une éruption est imminente. Des villageois ont vu des animaux (singes et serpents en particulier) fuir les pentes du volcan, ce qui confirmerait cette crainte. Des exercices d’évacuation ont été conduits dans les villages au pied du Kelud afin de préparer la population à une évacuation rapide en cas d’éruption soudaine.
After elevating the alert level to 3 last Sunday, Indonesian volcanologists strongly believe an eruption is about to occur. Some villagers have seen animals (snakes and monkeys) fleeing the slopes of the volcano, which confirms such fears. Evacuation drills have been performed in the villages near Mount Kelud, so that the population might be ready for a rapid evacuation in the event of a sudden eruption.
