6:00 p.m .: As the eruption of Cumbre Vieja continues, the lava flows are slowing their progress, but they continue to be fed and remain a threat to La Laguna and Tazacorte. Indeed, the lava could start to move again.
The eruption of Cumbre Vieja remains Strombolian and is in an effusive phase, with a VEI remaining at 2 on a scale of 8 levels. There is a certain slowdown upslope, which explains the slowdown in downslope progression and the thickening of the lava flows. The ash and gas column is currently 2,800 meters high.
There is some decrease in deep seismicity, with another event of magnitude M 4.4 at a depth of 38 kilometers.
996 hectares are impacted by lava. The maximum width of the flow fronts is 2,900 meters. 2,122 buildings were destroyed and 137 are in danger, according to the Copernicus data.

1:00 p.m .: The eruption of Cumbre Vieja continues. Involcan indicates that the lava flow which destroyed the La Laguna service station seems to have slowed its progress towards the interior of the municipality. At present, it is heading mainly towards the coast.
6:00 am : No major evolution of the eruption of Cumbre Vieja since the day before. An M 4.8 earthquake was recorded on the evening on October 19th at a depth of 39 km. It was the most powerful event since the start of the eruption. Eruptive activity remains high. SO2 emissions remain high too, with 3000-4000 tonnes per day. One of the flows threatens to cross the center of the district of La Laguna, in Los Llanos de Aridane, and another, about 100 meters from the sea, borders the entire municipality of Tazacorte. An ideal scenario would be that the flow which is heading towards the district of La Laguna, changes course and goes towards the west where it would encounter slopes. Unfortunately, it is the lava that decides. According to the latest Copernicus data, lava covers 811.8 hectares, and at least 1,956 structures have been destroyed.
