As I put it previously, an intensification of activity on Mt Etna, with the emission of ash clouds, forced the airport authorities to close Fontanarossa Airport in Catania yesterday afternoon, until 11 am this morning.

It looks as if the situation is back to normal- at least temporarily – on the volcano and the airport has been allowed to operate again normally. However, there are some delays and passengers are advised to contact their airlines for further information.
