Gamkonora (Indonésie)

drapeau francais.jpgEn consultant le site du VSI, on se rend compte que le niveau d’alerte du Gamkonora a été élevé à 3 (Siaga) le 13 juin suite à une augmentation de l’activité sismique.

On apprend par la presse indonésienne que cette intensification de la sismicité a été suivie mercredi après-midi d’une brève éruption avec un panache de cendre de 3 km de hauteur. Des centaines de villageois ont fui devant le danger avant de regagner leurs domiciles quelques heures plus tard.

drapeau anglais.jpgWhen consulting the VSI website, one realises that the alert level of Gamkonora was raised to 3 (Siaga) om June 13th because of an increase in seismic activity.

One can read in the Indonesian press that the increase in seismicity was followed by a brief eruption on Wednedsday afternoon, with an ash plume that reached a height of 3 km. Hundreds of villagers evacuated the area but returned to their homes a few hours later.

Sirung (Indonésie)

drapeau francais.jpgD’après le VSI, des panaches de vapeur montaient jusqu’à 10 – 50 mètres au-dessus du cratère du Sirung à la mi-mai. La sismicité était encore élevée entre le 12 et le 17 mai, puis a commencé à décroître, tout en restant supérieure à la normale. Le 25 mai, le niveau d’alerte a été abaissé à 2, sur une échelle de 1 à 4.

drapeau anglais.jpgAccording to VSI, diffuse white plumes were rising 10-50 metres from Sirung by mid-May. Seismicity was elevated between May 12th and 17th then decreased, although levels remained above background. On May 25th, the alert level was lowered to 2 (on a scale of 1-4).
