drapeau francaisL’épisode éruptif (le mot « paroxysme » est inadapté dans le cas présent!) semble toucher à sa fin. Le tremor a retrouvé un niveau quasiment normal. Les dernières images de la coulée visibles sur la webcam LAVE montrent que la partie active se fait de plus en plus courte. La question maintenant est de savoir quand se produira le prochain épisode. L’Etna seul a la réponse !

drapeau anglaisIt looks as if the current eruptive episode (the word « paroxysm is totally irrelevant » right now) is definitely coming to an end. The tremor has nearly got back to background levels. The latest images released by the LAVE webcam show that the active part of the lava flow is getting shorter and shorter. The question is to know when the next episode will take place. Mount Etna is the only one who knows the answer!

Etna (Sicile / Italie): Vers la fin de l’épisode éruptif? // Is the eruptive episode coming to an end?

drapeau francaisDepuis le 25 janvier en fin de journée, le tremor éruptif décline très progressivement. L’activité strombolienne a perdu de sa vigueur et l’effusion de lave semble s’essouffler sur le versant E du NCSE, comme le montrent les dernières images visibles ce soir sur la webcam L.A.V.E. Un sursaut est toujours possible, mais il semble bien que l’on s’achemine peu à peu vers la fin de l’épisode éruptif actuel.

drapeau anglaisThe eruptive tremor has been steadily declining since January 25th in the evening. Strombolian activity has become less intense and lava is coming out less profusely from the vent on the E flank of there NSEC, as can be seen on the last images of the LAVE webcam. A relapse is still possible but it looks as if the current eruptive episode is going to come to an end.

drapeau francaisLe tremor montre ce matin, avec une légère tendance à la baisse) que la situation reste stable sur le volcan. La webcam LAVE montre que la lave continue à s’échapper d’une bouche située sur la partie basse du versant SE du Nouveau Cratère SE.

drapeau anglaisThis morning, the tremor – which is slightly declining – shows that the situation is quite stable on Mount Etna. The LAVE webcam shows that lava keeps flowing from a vent on the SE flank of the New SE Crater.

drapeau francais6 heures: L’activité strombolienne et l’émission de lave sur le versant SE du NCSE continuent et semblent même s’intensifier si l’on en juge par le tracé du tremor qui est à la hausse depuis le 22 janvier. La coulée atteignait hier soir une longueur d’environ 500 mètres.

18h30: Le tremor s’est stabilisé au niveau qui était le sien ce matin. Les images de la webcam L.A.V.E. montrent ce soir la persistance de l’activité strombolienne et de l’effusion de lave sur le flanc SE du NCSE.

drapeau anglais6:00: The strombolian activity and the emission of lava on the SE flank of the NSEC continue and even seem to intensify, judging from the tremor that has been rising since January 22nd. Last night, the lava flow had travelled about 500 metres.

18:30: The tremor has kept the same level as this morning. The images of the L.A.V.E. webcam show that strombolian activity and lava effusion continue on the SE flank of the NSEC.
