Nabro (Erythrée)

L’éruption du volcan Nabro se poursuit mais tire probablement à sa fin. Le VAAC de Toulouse indiquait le 18 juin que l’« éruption [était] en train de faiblir » et que le panache était « essentiellement composé de SO2 et de vapeur d’eau ». D’après le VAAC, l’éruption ne devait pas produire de cendre pendant les 24 heures à venir. La compagnie aérienne Ethiopian Airlines a annoncé qu’elle allait reprendre ses vols à destination de Khartoum après les avoir interrompus la semaine dernière à cause du nuage de cendre émis par le Nabro.

The eruption at Nabro is continuing but probably dying out. The Toulouse VAAC indicated on June 18^th that the ‘eruption currently gets weaker’ and that the plume is ‘mainly composed of SO2 and water vapour’. The VAAC’s prediction was that no ash from this eruption will be detectable. Ethiopian Airlines has announced that it will be resuming flights to Khartoum after they were disrupted by the ash cloud from Nabro last week.
