Dans son dernier bulletin, le Vanuatu Geohazards Observatory indique que le Yasur s’est un peu calmé, après une période d’activité intense avec fortes explosions et retombées de cendre fin mai – début juin (voir ma note précédente sur ce volcan). Les explosions sont devenues moins puissantes et moins fréquentes mais on observe toujours une activité strombolienne permanente avec des projections de bombes autour du volcan.

Le niveau d’alerte a été ramené à 2.

Il est demandé aux visiteurs d’observer le volcan en se tenant à une bonne distance du cratère et de ne pas pénétrer à l’intérieur de la zone de sécurité délimitée par des rubans fluorescents.

 

In its latest report, the Vanuatu Geohazards Observatory indicates that Yasur’s volcanic activity has decreased after a brief period of high activity with significant explosions and ash falls at the end of May  and the beginning of June (see my previous note about the volcano). Explosions have become slightly weaker and less frequent but constant strombolian activity with occasional ejections of lava bombs still occur around the volcano.

The Alert Level has been lowered to 2.  

Visitors to the volcano are still advised to observe the volcano from safe distance away from the vent according to the access zone to the crater delimited by the fluorescent ribbons.
