L’INGV indique qu’à partir de 7 heures du matin ce 15 avril 2025, une activité strombolienne au Cratère Sud-Est de l’Etna est observée sur les caméras de surveillance. L’amplitude du tremor volcanique a montré une hausse à partir de 02h00 UTC, avec la source au niveau du Cratère du Sud-Est, à une altitude d’environ 2 900 mètres au-dessus du niveau de la mer. L’activité éruptive s’accompagne d’un fort dégazage. Une coulée de lave a emprunté le col entre les deux cônes de la Sud-Est et avance sur le versant sud.
Le matin du 15 avril également, deux séismes ont été enregistrés dans la province de Catane, respectivement à 2h06 et à 7h21. Tous deux avaient une magnitude de M2,1, le premier avec un hypocentre à une profondeur de 1,4 km et l’épicentre à l’ouest de Zafferana Etnea ; le second à une profondeur de 1,7 km avec l’épicentre au nord-ouest de Fleri.

INGV reports that, starting at 7:00 a.m. on April 15, 2025, Strombolian activity at Mount Etna’s Southeast Crater is observed on surveillance cameras. The amplitude of the volcanic tremor increased from 2:00 a.m. UTC, with the source at the Southeast Crater, at an altitude of approximately 2,900 meters above sea level. The eruptive activity is accompanied by significant degassing. A lava flow traveled through the pass between the two Southeast cones and advances down the southern slope.
Also on the morning of April 15, two earthquakes were recorded in the province of Catania, at 2:06 a.m. and 7:21 a.m. respectively. Both had a magnitude of M2.1, the first with a hypocenter at a depth of 1.4 km and the epicenter west of Zafferana Etnea; the second at a depth of 1.7 km, with the epicenter northwest of Fleri.
