Le 30 juin à 16h33 GMT, le volcan a connu une phase explosive avec 3 événements successifs dont le plus violent, d’une puissance d’environ 12 fois supérieure aux explosions quotidiennes, a été enregistré à 16h35. Le sommet du Stromboli était dans les nuages au moment de cette séquence explosive.

The volcano went through an explosive phase on June 30th at 16:33 GMT with three events. the most violent one was recorded at 16:35 and was about 12 times more powerful than the daily explosions. The summit of the volcano was hidden by the clouds at the time of the explosions.
