7 heures (heure locale) :Un nouvel épisode d’activité strombolienne a débuté vers 4 heures ce matin (heure locale) au niveau de la Voragine de l’Etna et, comme précédemment, a évolué en fontaines de lave, avec de fortes émissions de cendres. La colonne éruptive et montée jusqu’à 9000 m d’altitude avant de dériver vers l’ESE.

A noter l’apparition d’une coulée de lave bien alimentée qui a débordé de la lèvre NO de la Bocca Nuova. En fin de matinée, son front se trouvait à 3000 m d’altitude.
L’amplitude moyenne du tremor volcanique s’est intensifiée pour atteindre un niveau très élevé. La source de l’activité se situe à l’est de la Voragine à une altitude d’environ 2800 m.

9 heures: Le tremor a commencé à chuter. Le paroxysme est donc en phase terminale…jusqu’à la prochaine fois. Pour une partie de la Sicile, ce sera un dimanche avec les balais. Les localités les plus impactées par les retombées de cendres sont Milo, Giarre, Torre Archirafi, Santa Venerina et Zafferana Etnea.

7:00 am (local time) : A new episode of Strombolian activity began around 4 a.m. this morning (local time) at Mt Etna’s Voragineand, as previously, evolved into lava fountains, with strong ash emissions. The eruptive column rose up to 9,000 m above sea level and drifted ESE.

A well-fed lava flow overflowed from the NW rim of Bocca Nuova. At the end of the morning, its front was located at an altitude of 3000 m.
The average amplitude of the volcanic tremor has intensified to reach a very high level. The source of activity is located to the east of Voragine at an altitude of approximately 2800 m.

9:00 am : The eruptive tremor has started to drop. This means the paroxysm is coming to an end…until the next one. For some Sicilians, it will be a sweeping Sunday beacuse of the ashfall from the eruption, especially in Milo, Giarre, Torre Archirafi, Santa Venerina and Zafferana Etnea.
