L’éruption du Fogo continue. D’après la page Facebook FogoNews, la lave avance sur trois fronts et menace le village de Portela. Sur un autre front, le Parc National est également menacé. La lave met 4 ou 5 minutes pour parcourir un mètre. La situation semble plus préoccupante qu’en 1995. Un homme de 92 ans qui a assisté aux dernières éruptions du 20ème siècle a déclaré: « C’est la pire éruption que j’aie jamais vue ». La route principale a été définitivement coupée par la lave.

The eruption continues on Fogo volcano. According to the FogoNews Facebook page, lava is travelling on three fronts and is threatening the village of Portela. On another front the National Park is also threatened. Lava is moving forward at a speed of about one metre in 4 or 5 minutes.The situation looks more serious than in 1995. An elderly of 92 who watched the previous eruptions of the last century said that “this is the worst eruption that I ever attended.” The main road has been definitely cut off by a lava flow.
