Les habitants de l’île Kuchinoerabu vont devoir s’armer de patience avant de pouvoir revenir chez eux. En effet, le Shindake a connu une nouvelle crise éruptive jeudi entre 12h17 et 12h47. Elle avait été précédée d’une augmentation de l’activité sismique en début de semaine. Le mauvais temps a empêché une bonne observation de l’événement, mais un bateau des gardes-côtes japonais qui patrouillait à 9 km de l’île a pu apercevoir des chutes de blocs sur le flanc du volcan.

L’éruption d’hier a toutefois été moins violente que celle qui s’est produite en mai et qui a entraîné l’évacuation de la population de Kuchinoerabu.

The residents of Kuchinoerabu Island will need to be patient and wait before being allowed to return home. Indeed, Mount Shindake went through another eruptive crisis Thursday between 12:17 and 12:47. It was preceded by an increase in seismic activity earlier this week. Poor weather conditions prevented a good observation of the event, but a vessel of Japan Coast Guard patrolling 9 km from the island could see rockfall on the flank of the volcano.
Yesterday’s eruption, however, was less violent than that which occurred in May and led to the evacuation of the population of Kuchinoerabu.
