Stromboli (Sicile / Italie)

En faisant le tour des webcams siciliennes ce matin, j’ai pu assister quasiment en direct à une explosion au niveau de la bouche NE du Stromboli.

Dans ses derniers bulletins, l’INGV fait état d’une quinzaine d’explosions de faible à moyenne intensité par heure, ce qui n’est déjà pas si mal.

A la veille des vacances d’été, il est bon de rappeler que la grimpette jusqu’au sommet du Stromboli ne peut s’effectuer qu’avec les guides locaux. La montée non accompagnée est interdite.

 

While checking the Sicilian webcams this morning, I could observe an explosion at the NE vent of Stromboli.

In its latest reports, INGV mentions 14-15 low or medium intensity strombolian explosions per hour, which is not too bad.

With the coming of the Summer holidays, one should remeber that the ascent of the volcano can only be done with the local guides. It is strictly forbidden to climb alone.
