Un essaim sismique de 16 petites secousses – la plus importante avait une magnitude de 2,7 – a affecté la semaine dernière le Pitchstone Plateau, sur la bordure sud de la caldeira de Yellowstone La séquence sismique a commencé le lundi juste avant minuit pour se terminer le mercredi. De tels essaims sismiques sont relativement courants à Yellowstone. Environ soixante-dix ont été enregistrés entre 1983 et 2006.

A swarm of 16 small earthquakes – the greatest had a 2.7 magnitude – affected last week Pitchstone Plateau on the southern edge of the Yellowstone caldeira. The event started on Monday before midnight and continued until Wednesday. Such seismic swarms are fairly common in Yellowstone. About 70 of them were recorded between 1983 and 2006.
