Suite à la dernière activité du Bromo et devant le risque d’un épisode éruptif plus important, les autorités ont décidé de fermer pour 5 jours à partir d’aujourd’hui l’aéroport de Malang situé à environ 25 km du volcan.

Further to Mount Bromo’s latest activity and to anticipate the risk of a bigger eruption, local authorities have decided to close for five days starting Monday the airport in Malang, 25 km or so from the volcano.

La lave en provenance du TEB a finalement atteint samedi soir la maison qui était vraiment menacée dans les Kalapana Gardens et provoqué un incendie qui a totalement détruit l’édifice à 17h30.

Les services incendie de Big Island ont indiqué qu’aucune autre structure n’était menacée pour le moment.

Comme je l’ai écrit précédemment, l’accès au point d’observation prévu pour le public est actuellement interdit.

Dans le même temps, la lave continue à entrer dans l’océan en provoquant parfois des explosions, comme sur photo ci-dessous.

Lava from the Thanksgiving Eve Breakout vent (TEB) finally reached another Kalapana Gardens home on Saturday evening, sparking a fire that completely engulfed the structure. By 5:30 p.m., the house was ablaze.

Big Island fire officials said no other structures in the subdivision are currently threatened.

As I put it before, the public lava viewing area had been closed due to volcanic hazards.

Meantime, lava keeps entering the ocean with occasional explosions like in the photo here below.

Suite au mail de détresse envoyé par Jeffe Castan, j’ai contacté les Pompiers de l’Urgence Internationale dont une antenne est basée à Limoges où j’habite. Le commandant a déjà contacté Jeffe Castan pour lui demander quels étaient les besoins. Il doit aussi prendre contact avec les associations locales dans la province de Sleman. Je connais l’efficacité de cet organisme. Je pense avoir frappé à la bonne porte. 

Further to Jeffe Castan’s distress e-mail, I got in touch with the « Pompiers de l’Urgence Internationale » (Firefighters of International Emergency) which has a team in Limoges where I live. Their boss has already sent an e-mail to Jeffe in order to ask him what the basic needs were. He will also try to get in touch with local associations in the Sleman province.
