Comme je l’ai indiqué précédemment, le sentier du célèbre Tongariro Crossing avait été fermé suite à l’éruption du Mont Tongariro le 6 août dernier. L’éruption est maintenant terminée et le sentier a été remis en état de sorte qu’il sera à nouveau praticable dès vendredi. L’accès sera toutefois interdit à moins d’un kilomètre du Te Maari Crater où a eu lieu l’éruption.
Je recommande chaudement à ceux qui se rendent en Nouvelle Zélande de faire le Tongariro Crossing. Le trajet est long mais ne présente pas de difficultés techniques. Les paysages rencontrés sont magnifiques.
As I put it before, the famous Tongariro Crossing had been closed after the eruption of Mount Tongariro on August 6th. The eruption is now over and the track will reopen on Friday. However, access will be restricted in a 1-km hazard zone around the Te Maari crater where the eruption took place.
I would strongly advise those who visit New Zealand to do the Tongariro Crossing. It is quite long but not difficult from a technical point of view. The landscapes you cross are great.
