On peut lire sur le site Gorilla.CD un récit (en anglais) montrant que l’approche de l’éruption du Nyiamuragira n’est pas facile. Elle a lieu à une dizaine de kilomètres du QG du Parc. Au vu du texte, il semble qu’il faille affronter les difficultés du terrain et l’insécurité qui règne dans le secteur. On peut voir des photos des fontaines de lave qui jaillissent du volcan. L’auteur du texte fait remarquer qu’une approche trop serrée de l’éruption présente des risques car le vent peut faire retomber les projections sur le site d’observation.

One can read on the website Gorilla.cd a text showing that the approach of the eruption of Nyiamuragira is quite difficult. It is taking place 10 km or so from the Park Headquarters. Visitors had to face rough terrain and the insecurity that prevails in the area. One can see photos of the lava fountains. The author of the article indicates that getting too close to the eruption can be dangerous as the wind can blow hot ejections towards the observation point.
