Re-bonjour à tous ! Je suis de retour du Festival de Montier-en-der qui a connu un énorme succès dont je vous parlerai au cours des prochains jours. Après une privation d’Internet pendant une semaine, je vais pouvoir reprendre le fil de l’actualité volcanique ! Au cours du Festival, un visiteur m’a indiqué que le Galeras (Colombie) était en éruption, information qu’il avait reçue via la chaîne de télé LCI.

Effectivement, le Galeras est entré en éruption le 20 novembre à 8h37, avec une colonne de cendre haute d’une dizaine de kilomètres. Un millier d’habitants ont dû être évacués et relogés dans des abris à Pasto, capitale du district de Narino, le long de la frontière avec l’Equateur. Des restrictions de circulation ont également été mises en place sur le réseau routier autour du volcan.

 

Hello again ! I’m back from the Photo Festival in Montier-en-Der, with a record number of visitors this year. I’ll tell you about it in the coming days. I could not be connected to the Internet over the past week but the situation is now back to normal. During the Festival, a visitor told me that an eruption took place on the Galeras volcano in Colombia. He got the piece of news through the LCI TV channel.

Indeed, an eruption occurred at Galeras November 20^th at 8:37 a.m. with an eruption column whose height was estimated at 10 kilometres. 1000 inhabitants or so had to be evacuated; they were taken to shelters in Pasto, the capital of Narino department on the border with Ecuador. Traffic restrictions also affected the highways linking Pasto to areas close to Galeras.
