D’impressionnants geysers d’eau et de boue ont jailli du sol dans plusieurs maisons et dans un restaurant abandonné situés à plusieurs centaines de mètres de la zone sinistrée par le ‘volcan de boue’.
Les scientifiques affirment que ces jets sont dus à la pression provoquée par les torrents de boue qui sortent du site de forage depuis plus d’un an. Ils mettent également les habitants en garde sur les dangers que pourraient causer le méthane et l’hydrogène sulfuré libérés au moment où se produisent les geysers.
En dépit des efforts pour arrêter le flot de boue, celle-ci s’échappe toujours du ‘volcan’, et cette gentille plaisanterie écologique est susceptible de durer encore très, très longtemps.

Huge geysers of water and mud have been shooting out of the ground in several homes and at least one abandoned restaurant hundreds of meters away from the land that is submerged by the ‘mud volcano’.
Experts say the bursts are caused by underground pressure linked to torrents of mud gushing out of the drilling site for more than a year. They also say people have to be cautious because the bursts may carry toxic gases such as methane and hydrogen sulphide.
In spite of efforts to stop the mudflow, the mud is still flowing out of the ‘volcano’ and this environmental disaster might last for a very, very long time.
